This drop trap is a useful tool when conducting Trap-Neuter-Return—it allows you to selectively trap a specific member of a colony, since you determine when to spring the manually-operated trap; and it is designed to help you trap cats who have caught on to the ins and outs of the humane box trap. Arrives completely assembled with directions for use.*

Soft cord handles for easy carrying.
New nylon netting which is stapled and zip-tied securely in place.
A hollowed frame makes the trap lighter.
The entire trap is sanded to reduce splinters and treated with Thompson's® Water Seal®, eliminating the need to paint or stain it.
A solid wood brace bar holds the trap open.
Screws reinforced with Gorilla Glue keep wood from splitting or screws from coming loose.
Rubber bumpers under each corner prevent tails and paws from getting caught.
Eyelets on either side of the transfer door make securing box traps into place with bungee cord while transferring cats convenient.
A new double-pronged prop stick.

* Note: As with any trapping endeavor, common sense must prevail. This drop trap is designed to trap adult cats. It is not designed for wildlife. It is also not designed for kittens. Though the trap is designed with safety precautions and bumpers on the bottom corners to prevent it from injuring a cat's tail or paws, there is a slightly higher risk of injuring a kitten due to their size. In addition, very small kittens could squeeze through the netting holes and escape.

Trapping cats involves a moderate degree of risk, both to the trapper and to the cats. We strongly recommend attempting to trap first with a humane box trap and using the drop trap if you are unsuccessful.

Please use caution when using this drop trap, and make sure that you are using enough line so that you are a safe distance from the cat or cats you are attempting to trap. Use caution when transferring cats from the drop trap to the box trap or transfer cage. Alley Cat Allies cannot be held responsible for any injuries to people or animals that result from using this trap.
